UTILITY PV is a project aimed at speeding the development of clean energy, contributing to the virtuous cycle of technology innovation, and lowering unit manufacturing cost. It was initiated by Solarvoltaics Corporation in response to growing demand from businesses and individuals for investment opportunities in photovoltaic solar power plants with long-term power purchase agreements. By increasing business agility, reducing carbon dioxide emissions, and creating thousands of high-skill, high-paying jobs for local workers, state-of-the-art PV projects are both economically and environmentally desirable.
New technologies face commercialization barriers so developing an ambitious yet prudent plan is essential. In the field of solar energy, this means addressing issues of testing, economies of scale, pricing, and distribution. The Solarvoltaics team is capitalizing on its extensive experience to do exactly that and, through UTILITY PV, giving investors a direct stake in the returns. In collaboration with its partners, Solarvoltaics has developed a highly reliable and efficient photovoltaic methodology for large scale solar power generation. UTILITY PV's facility will utilize a fully customizable package, part of Virtualized Photovoltaics¹. The virtualized solution will, among other things, “smartly” connect solar modules to the local utility and efficiently convert the sun's rays into clean, reliable electricity.
